Law Enforcement

eBay's Law Enforcement training programme has come to an end. With regret, after 9th September 09, eBay will no longer host training courses for any law enforcement officials world wide.

eCops will continue to provide free training on a 1-1 conference call basis. In most cases the above will suffice but arrangement for local training at your premises can also be arranged. However as the primary aim is to train in the use of the eCops software only agencies that have taken a paid eCops subscription should enquire.

CONFERENCE CALL AGENDA (approx 30 minutes)

  • eCops software overview
  • Tracking stolen goods & other illegal items on live and ended listings
  • Identifying criminal activity and targetting suspects
  • Mapping results geographically to seller's postcodes
  • Saving searches to dossiers and sorting results
  • Exporting results to Excel for further analysis
  • Exporting listings to HTML to preserve the evidence
  • Familiarisation with full audit trail
  • Creating and supervising sub-account holders
  • Harnessing eBay & other online resources to maximum effect

LOCAL TRAINING AGENDA (approx 60-90 minutes)

  • How to use the eCops software (as above) with case studies
  • How to use eBay as an open source investigation tool
  • Combining eCops, eBay & other online resources to maximum effect
  • Availability of data from eBay and PayPal & fast tracking requests
